Workshops and Courses
Our courses are proving really popular so book a place by popping in the shop or calling 0117 9041498.
Each course specifies materials needed, and a basic sewing kit of pins and thread and bobbin is advised on any of the 4 week courses but specilalist equipment is provided.
| DROP IN SEWING Weekdays between 10-4pm £10 per session Designed for those with some sewing experience these sessions run on a casual drop in basis. Bring along your own sewing projects to our bright and specifically designed sewing workshop, where we have domestic sewing machines and overlockers for you to use and are on hand to advise and help. ONE TO ONE Alternatively book a 1:1 session perfect for complete beginners. We teach you how to thread a machine and the basics of machine sewing, helping to build confidence. Price £20 We even throw in a cup of tea or coffee. | |
| CORSETRY Tuesday 4th June 6-8.30pm 5 weeks £100 includes all specilaist materials Intermediate Learn the art of corsetry over this 5 week course, we provide all the specialist materials busks, rivets and boning needed to make a professional quality corset, fitted to you. The only additional material costs are a metre of cotton outer fabric of your choice, binding and ribbon to finish. | |
| LETS GET SEWING - Sat 15th June 10-1pm £28 Inclusive Beginner Suitable for complete beginners learn how to thread a machine and build confidence learning the basic of machine sewing. | |
| GENERAL LEVEL DRESSMAKING Tues 9th July 6-8.30pm 4 weeks £65 plus materials Mixed ability A general level mixed ability group suitable for those with some sewing experience. Learn how to take measurements, and read dress patterns, following layout plans and instructions with the support of an experienced dressmaker tutor. You will need to bring along a pattern suitable to your ability and fabric. | |
| LETS GET SEWING LEVEL 2 Thursday 18th July 6-8pm 3 weeks £50 plus materials Improver Level 2 is a perfect way to develop sewing skills and build confidence on those tricky things like zips and fastenings. Learn professional finshing techniques and complete a small sewing project over the 3 weeks. | |
| STRETCH KNICKER MAKING WORKSHOP Sat 20th July 10-1pm £30 inclusive Intermediate Enjoy a morning learning the techniques involved in making a pair of knickers from cotton jersey or similar fabric, finished by applying colourful stretch lace to make a contemporary 'short' style knicker. | |
| BEGINNERS DRESSMAKING Thursday 8th August 6 - 8.30pm £65 plus materials 4 Weeks Beginner A beginners course in which you learn how to make a simple shift dress. Learn about taking measurements, reading and following a pattern and expanding your sewing techniques. |
